BIOGRAPHY

Louhanne Trainor is a most distinguished French artist whose paintings hang in private collections in France, Italy, Morocco and the United States. She is the recipient of the Bronze Medal of Honor of the Republique Francaise for her personal exhibition at La Roque Esclapon, France, 1975. She was also awarded the Third Place, Grand Prix de Peintures - Iles de Lerins, Cannes , France, 1977. During her visit to the United States the same year, she received the only Purchase Prize in the Fountain Valley Art Show, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Returning to France Louhanne was honored with the Grand Finale and Voix du Jurie pour un Prix in the XIII Grand Prix International de Peinture de la Cote D'Azure, Cannes, France, 1978.

Louhanne’s extensive travels in Europe, Africa, and the Far East are reflected in her brilliant palette and diverse subject matter. Her paintings reach into the minds and experiences of the viewers, bringing their personal memories and images to consciousness. In a sense, she invites the viewer to become a co-creator in the art.

Louhanne’s work is the expression of humankind’s inner psychological battle between reality and fantasy and the search for meaning. She makes it possible for the viewer to create different spontaneous configurations of feelings that are shared fundamental human experiences. Her paintings express psychic energy in visual forms through which she weaves ideas relevant to living in a fully aware state of being. Archetypal figures and stories lead to a comprehension of the unity of all life and its spiritual progression.

During her years in Georgia she has completed a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Georgia and a Master of Architecture at Georgia Institute of Technology. She has worked in the field of architecture, taught dance, and painted. She was a substitute art teacher at Atlanta College of Art and now teaches at the American Intercontinental University. Her affinity for the experimental prompted her to host, for several years, a monthly salon at her studio for local artists, musicians, writers, poets, and philosophers to share ideas and critiques of the current art scene.

The Artist Gallery, a Pompano Beach, Florida subsidiary of Tishman Enterprises, choose Louhanne as one of 50 artists selected for the gallery out of 400 artists interviewed. “Her work is really superb”, said Ms. Travis. “We felt she was someone whose work would be very marketable, that we could promote locally as well as transfer to other cities.”
